Northwoods Mall, which has been opened for more then 40 years, is a regional-indoor mall located at the corner of Scenic Drive and West War Memorial Drive in Peoria, Illinois. The mall, designed by Chicago architects Sidney H. Morris & Associates, was opened in 1973. At that time the construction cost $25 million (that’s roughly equivalent to $144 million today) and it was the largest indoor shopping mall between Chicago and St. Louis. The mall underwent a renovation in 2005 and since August 2014 is owned by Washington Prime Group Inc. Northwoods Mall, with its more then 90 outlets and specialty stores, belongs between Simon's minor shopping centers.

The complex is anchored by a 2-level J.C.Penney, Macy's and Sears. There are plenty of clothing stores for kids and teens and stores with women's and men's fashion such as GapKids, The Childrens Place, Hot Topic, Crazy8, Gap, Aeropostale, Hollister, Rue21, Charlotte Russe, Victoria's Secret and other more. The food court, at the upper level main entrance, doesn't have a big selection, but keep in mind you have good eats at Smo-King Pit near Sears and Didoughs is good for a quick pretzel sandwich.The mall needs upgrade, more of stores and food selection, but it is still a good place to shop when you are in Peoria.
