The Esplanade Kenner, Louisiana - LA

The Esplanade is a two-storey shopping mall located at Esplanade Avenue in Kenner, Louisiana. The Esplanade is a Louisiana Tax Free Shopping Zone and just a few minutes drive from downtown New Orleans and Louis Armstrong International Airport.

The mall was officially opened on 9th October, 1983 at 10 am with 80 stores. The Theme of the mall was "Just your style" and was very popular for many years. In 2005 the mall sustained a flood damage from hurricane Katrina and was closed for a few weeks. One of the anchors, Macy's, reopened 3 years later. Esplanade never seemed to bounced back after Katrina. The mall is owned by Simon Property Group and offers about 100 shops, brand stores and dining options. The Esplanade is anchored by Macy's, Dillard's Clearance and Target. The Dillard's is an outlet Dillards and Macy's is now the only two-storey anchor but with quite limited offer of goods. It is sad but recently more and more brand stores and restaurants have been closed up in The Esplanade. In 2014 it was Ann Taylor Loft, Hollister and The Gap. In 2015 Chez Sophie restaurant left the mall. The Esplanade is home to Victoria's Secret, Old Navy, Express Men, Love Culture, American Eagle Outfitters, Earth Trading Company, Bath&Body Works, Charlotte Russe, rue21 and much more. 

The food court has a  little to offer.It has just Chick-Fil-A, Subway, Cedar Grill, Cafe du Monde, Dippin' Dots,Magic Kitchen and Smoothie King. As most of the Simon's mall, Esplanade has a children's soft play arena where kids can run and play whole day.
